"From the centre of the forest, the
dance of the stars,
From the ring of magic, the dreams that
are ours,
Each sprite has a song.
Each life a miracle.
That which is right cannot be wrong."

You have found a fairy Ring deep within the forest, a circle of mushrooms. The inside is cleared, but the ring has mosses and grasses and  tiny flowers within it. Ferns and sweet smelling grasses surround it.

Some people will speak to you of spore and fungus circle. They would say that with each season of growth fungus sprouts outside the edge of the space it filled the previous season. Moving ever outward  leaving depleted ground  within the circle.  Those who have opened their minds, hearts and souls to the realms of magic may speak to you of the fairies.

They will tell you that This is where the Fairies dance and perform many of the rituals of their own magic.  Legends  warn you that those who join the Fairy  dance within the circle under the moon,  are sometimes lost to time and place. They may even  disappear forever. Those who do return are always thereafter a bit apart from other human folk . They are  still listening to the music of the magic realms.

The Fairy Rings are places where fairies rejoice and dance in circles when no one else is around. It is said that if a human steps into their circle, he or she will be forced to dance with the fairies. It will only seem like minutes have passed by, but in human years the enslavement has taken place for three to seven years. A friend may be of help, however, if they reach in and pull the person out without stepping into the circle. Because fairies are so intelligent, they are one of the most powerful creatures of their kind.

The Fairies can be found in Mushroom circles in Pine forests, in hollows of oak trees and amongst the acorns, pine cones and autumn leaves. Milkweed pods are sure to lead you to the wee ones. Dew drops, primroses, running streams are regular homes for the Fairies & Gnome. But do tread lightly! You NEVER know what you may find. Oh and one more thing...

You MUST believe Fairies exist with your whole heart!

The Fairy Ring

Margaret E. Johnson

Beneath the pussy-willow tree,
I found a fairy ring.
A ring of tiny toadstools,
Where fairies dance and sing.

I've heard that on a moonlit night,
Or on a sunny day,
The fairies come to dance and sing,
And make up games to play.

So if you find a fairy ring,
While playing out of doors,
Be very careful where you step,
For magic can be yours.

Now if you catch a Leprechaun,
And if you hold him tight,
He'll buy his freedom with a wish,
So wish with all your might.

And then you let him go again
To wend his merry way.
Be sure to watch for fairy rings
When you go out to play.
